SERVICES

The simple aim of Greyskull Analytics is to help you use data to achieve your business goals. There are several ways I can help you do this.

Power BI

Microsoft's Power BI is one of, if not THE leading business intelligence product. Amongst data professionals, working with Power BI is where I have really built my reputation. No matter the size of your implementation, I can help with the following things:

Design and build

I can help design and build your Power BI content. This includes semantic models (the dataset that underpins all Power BI reports), reports and dashboards, paginated reports and even design of the governance and operating model to support your Power BI implementation.

Optimisation

Perhaps you're already up and running with Power BI, but maybe having some teething problems. Reports running slow? Data refreshes sluggish? I can come in and audit existing Power BI content and make recommendations for making it all go faster!

DATA PLATFORM

I don't JUST do Power BI. Sometimes you need a platform setting up to consolidate your data for reporting purposes. With years of experience delivering Data Warehouses, I can do that to!

Design and build

Using the Data Engineering lifecycle as a blueprint, I can help design and deliver a data platform that meets your needs, using tech that suits your strategy and goals. That could be Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, MotherDuck or who else knows what else, so long as it's what's right for you.

Data Architecture Review

Maybe you already have a data platform, but is it working for you? I can come and review what you already have and provided a set of recommendations for improving or replacing what's already there. That can include longer term strategic goals or quick wins to help in the short term.

DATA STRATEGY

It isn't ALL about shiny tech.

Data STRATEGY Review

Using a POPIT framework (People, Organisation, Process and IT) let's look more holistically about how you can get your data working for you. Does your team have the right skills, the right team structure and the right ways of working to best complement your data stack of choice? Let's dive in and find out!

TRAINING

I can come and help upskill your team with the following day long training offerings:

SO YOU WANT TO BE A POWER BI DATA ANALYST?

Based on the the skills required to gain the Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification, this course aims to take you from zero to Power BI hero and includes sessions on Power BI fundamentals, how to prepare your data, how to create a data model, how to visualise and analyse the data and how to securely share your Power BI reports.

Bare Bones Data Modelling

Data Modelling is one of the the most essential skills for data professionals, yet somehow it's also managed to become somewhat of a forgotten artform. This course takes you through the fundamentals of dimensional modelling (also known as Kimball method) breaking modelling techniques into easy to understand concepts and providing attendees with an easy to follow framework to help gather requirements and design data models.

Learn to Love Paginated Reports

Paginated reports are kind of like Power BI's older sibling. In fact, their previous guise as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports were around whilst Power BI was still a twinkle in Microsoft's eye. But they've also become somewhat unfashionable, and knowledge around this style of reporting is becoming quite sparse. So get yourself skilled up! Paginated reports are one of my favourite features and they're an amazing tool in any well rounded Power BI developers arsenal. Come along and learn to love them!
