So, I’ve started a Substack. Why? Well, all the cool kids are doing it right?
In case you’re not familiar with me, Johnny, or my “brand” Greyskull Analytics, I’ve been creating content in the Data & Analytics space for around 3 years now.
Greyskull Analytics isn’t a paid gig… at least not yet anyway. It was the result of boredom during the pandemic, a realisation that having worked as a data professional since the noughties I actually had some half decent insights to share, and was accelerated when my tattoo artist came up with a kick-ass logo.
Before you ask, yes “Greyskull” is totally a He-Man reference (and yes, I did anglicise the spelling intentionally). You should expect to see other He-Man references thrown in (or in fact, more often Skeletor).

Oh, and I enjoy a good meme too.
You can check out my existing website over at greyskullanalytics.com – the original vision for the website was to write about all things Power BI (I am still a big Power BI fan), but I find myself continuously gravitating towards strategic topics as well as spreading my tech umbrella in to other areas too. I’ll no doubt cross-post content over on there still.
So why a Substack too? In all honesty it’s because of the enjoyment I’ve been getting from other content creators on the platform, but also the fact that those content creators seem to be building communities around that content. Substack can give me an extra set of features to help share my content, but also drive conversations around it and really get data professionals talking on subjects I feel are important to share.
It would be great if you join me on the journey at get involved in that community aspect.
Thanks for reading!
