At the beginning of this year I made a commitment to deepen my personal investment in my favourite BI tool, Power BI.
One challenge I set myself was to earn the Microsoft Power BI certification, and I’m pleased to announce that as of now I am certified!
Being transparent, I’m not the most qualified person in the world. I dropped out of university to work in a bar, so my highest formal qualifications are the A-Levels I earned in college.
My Business Intelligence career has very much been learned on the job, and I’ve always valued real world experience over a certificate.
But with me having such an affinity for Power BI, I really wanted to validate that I do know the product well and to back up the experience I’ve accrued using the platform with some formal acknowledgement.
And I’m glad I’ve finally done it, I’ve passed the DA-100 exam and I can now call myself a Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate!
I’ll be writing up my experience of preparing for the exam in a future blog, so keep your eyes peeled!
In the meantime, if you want to find out more about the certification you can visit https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/data-analyst-associate/

But this year I took the plunge, and am happy to say, having passed the DA-100 exam I am now a Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate. […]
